  • About Truth: This album was mainly written during the months of June and July this Summer.  We are living in strange, unpredictable times and these songs reflect my feelings about what is proving to be an era of change both in the way we communicate and the way we decide what is true and what isn't.  Truth is a tricky concept, everyone has their own and in 2019  there seems to be not just two sides to every story but countless versions of the same event depending on which lens you're viewing it through.  The one thing I've always relied on is music, these songs represent my best work and my truth.
  • About Live from the Living Room: On the 26th of March 2020 I sat down in my living room and with my wife Sarah as the only physical audience member, performed a short set of original songs. Meanwhile a couple of hundred people from all around the world joined me via Facebook Live. Over the next ten or so weeks I did a show every Tuesday, sometimes performing my own songs, sometimes my favourite songs by other artists and (a lot of the time) the favourite songs of my virtual audience. This album contains twelve of my favourite songs from the ‘Live From The Living Room’ sessions. They have been recorded in exactly the way I performed them during the shows with an acoustic guitar and a couple of microphones. The only overdubs are a harmonica (Angel From Montgomery) a harmony vocal (Old Paint) an English horn (Fields Of Gold) and a mere nod at the achingly beautiful string arrangement from Riverman, Nick Drake’s classic song from 1969.
  • About Live from the Living Room 2: On the 26th of March 2020 I sat down in my living room and with my wife Sarah as the only physical audience member and performed a short set of original songs..... 9 months later, we're still here and 'Live from the Living Room' every Tuesday! So many people have asked about a 2nd lockdown album, so here it is 'Live from the Living Room 2 - Bourbon & Ballads'.
  • About Colours: Chris’ second album Colours was recorded in 1998 and features Bob Rigby on drums, Neal Morgan on bass and Frazer Fifield on soprano sax. The album went in a more country direction than it’s predecessor and featured live favourites such as ‘1964’ and ‘No More Forever’.

Johnny The Fox - Demos & Recordings Johnny The Fox was formed in 1985 - featuring Chris Bannister, Martin Talbot, Andrew Talbot and Andrew Rudd, all with a passion for rock based guitar music. With influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush and The Police, the band quickly created a unique blend of guitar driven rock 'n' roll.   A successful live act, Johnny The Fox recognised the importance of writing and recording their own material  and during regular studio sessions between 1985 and 1989 the band recorded over a dozen original songs.   Chris Bannister's emotive lyrics and powerful vocals, Andy Rudd's infectious layered guitar arrangements and the high energy Talbot borthers' rhythm section combined to produce a catalogue of songs that received critical acclaim from the local music press.   These cd's were produced as a short run to raise funds for Croston, a local village that flooded badly in the Boxing Day floods in 2015. Over £2000 was raised from a reunion concert performed at Park Hall, Chorley in January 2016. The packaging is a simple plastic wallet with inlay and tracklist.
  • About Don’t Forget… Forgive: After a break from writing Chris returned to the studio in 2012 to record Don’t Forget… Forgive with Neal Morgan and Roy Martin on bass and drums respectively plus Tim Chu on bass and vocals, Matt Wells on Dobro and Neil Carr on sax. The album features Chris’ best songs to date and features a diverse range of styles from folk to rock! The song ‘No More Than A Dream’ became a radio hit and firm favourite of American servicemen abroad after it’s daily plays on American Veterans Radio.
  • About The Unicorn & Other Stories: In 2014 Chris was given a book of folk songs from Nova Scotia, compiled by respected folklorist Helen Creighton in the 1930’s. Chris was fascinated by the stories in the book and decided to write new melodies to some of his favourite songs. This led to the album ‘The Unicorn & Other Stories’. The album’s arrangements were a result of Chris’ collaborations with Chris Nole (John Denver, Faith Hill, Don Williams). Chris Nole’s wonderful piano playing, the ethereal vocals of Debbie Jones and Chris’ powerful acoustic guitar and vocals made this Chris’ most successful album in terms of airplay.
